Robert Taggart Driver Kart 96

 

Robert an honor roll student at Lester Middle School was born on Okinawa in 1995.  He started driving in Oct 2007.  Competed in his first race January 2008.  14th place finish due to a bad setup on the kart.  October 26th one year after Robert first sat in a race kart Robert celebrated his first win in his young career at KukuruYomitan Circuit. In 2009 his team stepped up with the opening season race on Ikei Island Finishing in seventh place out of eighteen competitors.  As the team struggles financially, Robert a great driver is just waiting for the equipment and team to catch up to his ability.

Ryu (The Dragon) Taggart Driver Kart 99

 

Ryu was born on Okinawa in 2001.  He started driving in Oct 2007.  Competed in his first race May 2008.  With a smaller engine then the rest of the competitors Ryu was able to pull off a second place qualifying lap,  finishing third in the race.  A very skilled and talented driver at a very young age.  One year after starting his racing carreer Ryu captured his first  win.  On October 26th at KukuruYomitan Circuit Ryu Taggart driving Kart 99 to a demanding win. Then on November 30th Ryu was passing for first place when he got together with another kart sending him up and over the other kart coming down on the side pod of the other kart with the nose of his kart and then going into cart rolls for about fifty meters coming to rest upside down under his kart.  He was taken to the hospital by ambulance and was lucky to have only suffered a broken collar bone.  Six weeks after his wreck he was back in the drivers seat running the same lap times ans before his accident.  Ten weeks after his terrible accident Ryu finished fourth place at of 15 competitor's on the fast Ikei Island Raceway.  He is sure to be a driver to watch in the future.
